Malcolm Mayhew
Malcolm Mayhew is a Fort Worth native who’s been writing about his hometown since, at age 19, he started working at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. His 14-year career at the paper took him across town, the state, and the country, as he wrote about music, pop culture, and people — both the famous and unsung, from Billy Joel to a young high school couple in love in a small Texas town. His award-winning work has appeared in the Boston Globe, Chicago Tribune, Baltimore Sun, Orlando Sentinel, American Way, Texas Music, Eater.com and MTV.com. Currently he freelances food and culture stories for News Break, Fort Worth Magazine, and CultureMap. He also spent 12 years as the Communications Manager at Bass Performance Hall, a performing arts center in downtown Fort Worth. There, he developed PR and social media initiatives tied to Broadway tours, concerts and special events presented by Performing Arts Fort Worth, the non-profit organization that manages Bass Hall.
